Many AIML sets are offered under the GPL or similar licenses. Please check the license for any AIML that you plan to use. We are grateful to all botmasters who make their AIML publicly available in this fashion.
The Annotated ALICE AIML set The Annotated A.L.I.C.E. AIML Files (AAA) is a revised release of the free A.L.I.C.E. brain, a set of AIML scripts comprising the award winning chat robot compatible with all AIML 1.01 compliant software. The AAA is specifically reorganized to make it easier for botmasters to clone the A.L.I.C.E. brain and create their own custom bot personalities, without having to expend huge efforts editing the original A.L.I.C.E. content.
The Standard AIML was based on Richard Wallace's A.L.I.C.E. AIML set (see below), from the Program B era. This was intended to become a generic AIML set, but eventually the project was abandoned. There is really nothing "Standard" about the "Standard AIML" set. We now recommend the AAA set (see above) or the Superbot as your starting point for English language chat bots.
The original Loebner Prizewinner herself. These AIML files are actively maintained by drwallace at alicebot dot org Richard Wallace at his World headquarters. This is the same AIML used to power the original A.L.I.C.E. that you can talk to on this site!
