Jon Baer

Jon Baer is a co-founder of the A.L.I.C.E. AI Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees. He is also the founder of DigitalAnywhere. His personal project Alicebot.net resulted in the most recent version of Alicebot, Program D.

Prior to his work on Alicebot, he was employed at Musicphone, Inc., MTV Networks/MTVi Group, and Thin Air. At MTV, he was a lead develoepr and contributed to projects such as myTRL!, CKj Network, Road Rules, RealWorld, and Tom Green. He designed the user interface and ICQ service for ThinAir 1.4, the number 1 email client for the Palm VII, as well as several other Palm VII apps.

He is an accomplished developer with expertise in XML, Java 1.3, JSP 1.1, J2ME (CLDC, MIDP), J2EE (Servlets, JavaMail), JMF (Java Media Framework), Visual Basic, TCP/IP, SAPI (Speech API), VoiceXML, Microsoft Agent, SMIL, RealMedia (JMF Framework), MP3, WindowsMedia, HDML, WML, WMLScript, WTAI, and i-mode.

Baer, who attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, The New School, and NYU, resides in New York City.
